exact audio copy - Free audio grabber for CD-ROM drives that reads audio CDs almost perfectly
TweakUI - Free small app that gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface
ffdshow - A free one-stop-shop package of decoder/encoder for many video and audio formats including DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 movies

Open Wiki - I used this to make my Organizations website; it’s a really easy to manage collaborate effort content management system
wordpress - I made my site with this; they say it is a “semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability”

oldversion - Archives old versions of your favorite programs, so you can cut out all of the bloat-ware
audioscrobbler - Offers a free plugin that tracks your music listening; it’s a really powerful way to search for new music or simply chart out what you listen to
Bloglines - Online service for searching, subscribing, creating and sharing news feeds, blogs and rich web content. Use this bad boy to keep track of new posts from my site.
